Rev Dr. Clifton Clarke and his wife Marcia, together with their children Joel and Jessica are CMS Mission Partners in Ghana. They have a long-term link with St Anne's Church, and we support them with prayer and gifts. They are based at the Good News Theological College in Accra North, where Clifton teaches.

Marcia is involved in running a large conference called "Sellers of Purple" for Christian business women. They send regular letters telling of their activities to the churches with which they have a link. The following are extracts from their most recent newsletter, in October 2003:

"Life in Ghana remains busy as usual with a lot of time spent in the ubiquitous and unavoidable traffic jams. We have to leave the house at around six o'clock each morning in order to get the children to school on time.
I (Clifton) have started the semester with a really heavy teaching schedule. Currently I am teaching Mission Studies, African Christian Theology and Systematic Theology. I am also busy writing several journal articles as well as trying to format my PhD thesis for publication. The other day I was asked to be the guest speaker at the book launching ceremony of a former student of mine.

She is also actively engaged in putting together another "Sellers of Purple" conference, which is eagerly awaited after the success of the last one she held.
Evangelism crusades and outreach services remain a very important part of our ministry as a family. Usually I am asked to be the guest preacher at these occasions, with Marcia and Jessica involved in the singing and Joel playing the drums. Recently we were asked to be the guest preacher and singer at a crusade in Accra, which was attended by about 2000 people. During these four days of meeting over thirty people made a commitment to the Lord and many others were healed and restored to faith."
